The Civility Book: a Guide to Building Bridges Across the Political Divide by Nolan  Finley and Stephen Henderson with Lynne Golodner | In 2020, conservative Finley and progressive Henderson, both journalists based in Detroit, teamed up with Lynne Golodner to help teach Americans how to discuss politics respectfully through The Civility Program. Their book is an extension of their program and highlights their four pillars of civility with easy-to-follow tips to keep political conversations from escalating into arguments. Recommended for anyone interested in politics. 

 

Fiction

Amity by Nathan Harris | In 1866, Coleman works for the Harper family, while his older sister June lives in Mexico, where she was taken by their former master. When Harper sends word that he needs to join them, Coleman and Harper’s daughter leave Louisiana for Mexico, despite their difficult relationship and being unprepared for how dangerous it will be. Recommended for  adults interested in westerns and historical fiction.
