About Us

Who we are

The Jambar is Youngstown State University’s student-run newspaper. Alongside publishing weekly editions for YSU, we also publish our articles here. Since 2019, we have produced JambarTV, a weekly broadcast show for all our stories.

Making our content possible

The Jambar’s content is made possible through the work of all our editors, producers, reporters, designers, web managers and unaffiliated students, known as Jambar Contributors. The Jambar also relies on volunteers to make our work possible. The Jambar is advised by faculty at Youngstown State University and its business operations are overseen by a business manager.

The Jambar Policy

Since being founded by Burke Lyden in 1931, The Jambar has won nine Associated Press Collegiate Press honors. The Jambar is published weekly in the spring and fall semesters. The Jambar is free for YSU students and faculty.
