According to Eddie Howard, vice president of student affairs, 1,126 students participated in the Student Health Center Fee poll on Tuesday and Wednesday.
He said 870 voted yes, 217 voted no and 39 abstained. Therefore, 9.6 precent of enrolled Youngstown State University students voted. The Chancellor’s Office in Columbus stated that 10 to 15 percent of the student population needed to vote for the health center to be considered.
“The next step in the process is to confer with the Chancellor’s Office to determine if we have enough votes to move forward,” Howard said.
He said he was thankful for the students who helped spread the word about the Student Health Center Fee and those that supported the project.
“The new Health Center is going to be a great addition to our campus and the Youngstown Community,” Howard said.
