Youngstown State University football coach Bo Pelini is expected to leave the university to take a defensive coordinator role at Louisiana State University, according to a report from Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger.
Sources close to the team told 21 WFMJ that it’s true and Pelini will be addressing the team this afternoon to announce his departure.
Pelini will be taking on his new role at LSU, where he was the defensive coordinator from 2005 to 2007.
In his five seasons with the Penguins, Pelini amassed a record of 33-28 and in 2016, brought the Penguins to the FCS National Championship game.
